Novel entities: Crisis unknown

The Anthropocene is pitting human innovation against the planetary boundaries for sustainable well-being. While our species’ inventiveness has indisputably made lives easier, byproduct too often release of harmful new materials, chemicals, wastes, and modified organisms into environment. Urgent action needed to regulate these “novel entities” before we unknowingly cross safe operating limits Earth system—if haven’t already.
